BATH

The basic model of the Bensberg – Bensberg Must bathtub is:

•  For the model Must there a seat and support feet and it is only available with door.

•  Metal bodywork with 9 adjustable positioned feet to provide high stability to the bathtub

•  Chromed high-flow evacuation drain with opening and closing controlled by a pull button placed near the faucet, always fixed on the right side (see when the patient is lying in the bathtub).

•  A water faucet, “macaron ” ½ fixed inside the bath and that can be dismounted for disinfecting.

PANEL

Panel surrounding the bath avoiding to use traditional trade association as woodwork, marble, tiles ….

The bath can be installed in the middle of the room and you have access all around the bath.

The panel can be supplied with space fitting placed to the right side of the bath (see when mother is lying in the bath) and place for :

- drain push-pull knob + antibacterial filter
+ monolever Hansa ½ with diverter-showerhead-flexible
OR thermostat HANSA ½ with diverter-showerhead-flexible (fitting space Nr. 2)

- drain push-pull knob + antibacterial filter (fitting space Nr. 3)

DOOR

The bath is also available with a door and in this case you must order the panel (to fit the door)

The door is designed in order to ease entry and exit. The bath can be filled up to the seat with the door open. The patient can then enter the bath partially filled with water. The mother is then already lying in hot water. The door is then closed for the final filling of the bath.

The door also allows rapid evacuation in case of emergency (drainage time to open the door : 1 minute).

FAUCETS

Placed to the right in the panel (see when the mother is lying in the bath), we have foreseen a fitting with integrated faucets Nr. 2 (screw fitted and thus removable). The showerhead

- Monolever ½ chrome + diverter + showerhead Hansa

- Thermostat ½ chrome + diverter + showerhead Hansa

Option : showerhead + flexible 1750 mm with aquastop and quick connections fixed at the hook and that can be dismantled for autoclaving up to121°

Option : antibacterial filter and that can be dismantled for autoclaving up to 140°

SYSTEM FOR MAINTENING THE WATER TEMPERATURE IN THE BATH

- ELECTRICAL CABLING FOR HEATING WITH THERMAL INSULATION

As option we can install in factory the automatic stop of electrical cables when bath is no more in use.

1-2 : The bath is equipped, as an extra option, with an heating fitted round the bath. This system is planned to be connected to the heating system on site. It is attached to the bath and made in annealed copper ( 15 mm ) or PVC covered aluminium (16mm), is 26 meters long and covered with high performance insulation. This option called “heating” only allows the temperature in the bath to be kept constant. It has the advantage of maintaining the temperature of the water without having to reheat the water of the bath by adding hot water from the Macaron (or the dismountable tap).
This water circuit can be connected to the central heating system of the building, or to an auxiliary heat generator. The temperature on the inside of the circuit must not be higher than 55°. In case of higher temperatures, it is necessary to install a regulating thermostat.

3 : 39 m . of electrical cabling with a power of 1000 watts for the heating system run around the bath. These cables are placed around and at the bottom of the bath and fitted with thermal insulation. A safety margin of 16 amperes must be fitted. The entire cabling is fitted with thermal insulation for the purpose of maintaining the heat

Wall mounted thermostat

Power supply must be 230 V with an earth connection with a differential of 30 milliamperes

FILLING THE BATH : AUTOMATIC CONTROL WITH WATER LEVEL SENSOR

Only available if you have ordered a bath with faucets Hansa monolever or thermostat.

The level sensor installed 15 cm below the bath area detects the maximum water level and controls filling shut-off via the electronic casing and the solenoid valve. So water level will stop at 15 cm below the bath edge.

There is no direct access to the sensor, so the patient cannot stop the filling.

Filling shut-off must always be carried out by the user. The level sensor is only a security device to prevent overflow in case of inadvertence faucets.

SEATS (LOW or HIGH MODEL)

Specially adapted for the curve of the bath, it makes work easier for the assistants and doctors.

High model : sitting position. L ength 800 mm , width 300- 360 mm , height 450 mm

Low model : kneeling position. L ength 800 mm , width 300- 360 mm , height 250 mm

STAIRWAY

The steps must be installed only on the foot side of the bath.
Two-step stairway for easy access to the bath.

Note: if the bath is equipped with one door, the stairway must be placed against the closed door.

Manufactured of fibreglass and available in all colours of the “Bensberg” range.

HYGIENE & DESINFECTION

Filling the bath : Two solutions to fill the bath :

A water faucet, “macaron ”1/2 fixed inside the bath and that can be dismounted for disinfecting.

Option : close macaron without water flow

Removable and capable of autoclaving for disinfection purposes.

After filling and during use of the bath, you can dismantle the faucet open filling inlet (macaron) with opening and replace it with the closed faucet filling inlet (macaron). Any spillage of dirty water will not be into the open faucet filling inlet (macaron). One more antibacterie safety.

OR

A dismountable faucet ½ fixed on the edge of the bath and that can be dismounted for disinfecting.

Drain:

Chromed high-flow evacuation drain with opening and closing controlled by a pull button placed near the faucet, always fixed on the right side (when the patient is lying in the bathtub).
No overflow hole in the bath.
Foresee evacuation pipe ø 63 mm and foresee DN 100/70 for the connection of evacuation pipe.

Showerhead and flexible autoclavable up to 121°:

Placed to the right in the panel (see when the mother is lying in the bath)
Chrome showerhead + silicon flexible 1750 mm with aquastop and quick connections, fixed at the hook and that can be dismantled for autoclaving up to 121°

Antibacterial filter autoclavable up to 140°:

The bath is automatically fitted with a space (near the faucets) for antibacterial filter

It is located behind the fibreglass gate and in front on the macaron (inlet water tap). A gate with 4 closings masks the filter. A small window in plexiglas lets one check if the filter is in place or not.

• Advised time for autoclaving : 20 to 30 minutes
• Filter life cycle : the autoclaving cycle quantity must be approved on site.

A test period must check filter integrity according to autoclaving quantities and this by a non destrutive test (bubble point, spreading flow …
